We're Gates Plaza Ultra Wash, and we've been a laundromat here in Kansas city, MO, since 2003. Use your debit card to pay for laundry NO CASH! Manager is prompt to fix problems. Employee's are pleasant to be around and are always cleaning. They have yummy snacks while you are there but also Gates BBQ is just a walk away. ATM is close by but NO ATM on site.

Clean, efficient and nicely updated machines, with helpful and very knowledgeable staff. Along with tables to fold your clothing, there are 2 nice televisions and a clean bathroom. There's a modern basin near the vending machines that can be used to rinse clothing in. However, you must use a cash card; obtainable on the premises, to utilize laundry and vending equipment; the washers and dryers don't accept cash or coins. The parking lot is fairly small.

Been to a few laundromats, this one has to be up there though. Attendant is on top of their job, it is clean and has plenty of machines. I didn’t have a problem finding a washer or a dryer and the machines are QUICK! Approx. 25 mins washing and the same for drying. I was in and out in about an hour with folding included

FAQ

I don’t see lots of water or suds – is the machine working?

Yes. All of our washers are high efficiency, front-loaders. They use 50% less water than traditional washers. Your clothes will be washed in a shallow pool of water and use high pressure sprays to rinse. This process produces less suds and keeps clothes constantly in motion, so the clothes get even cleaner.

Does cold water get my clothes as clean?

Cold water is great for most clothes and can wash as efficiently as warm or hot. Cold water helps prevent your clothes from fading or shrinking as heat reduces the durability in fabrics. Unless you are sanitizing clothing or bedding due to illness, cold water is your best choice

Can I stuff the washer to the top?

No. Washers do not work well if you stuff the entire drum full of clothes. Washers are designed to activate detergents and water while circulating your laundry in the drums as it spins. The more space you have, the more room it has to agitate resulting in a cleaner wash.

Why is there soap coming out of the top of the washer?

When using our high-efficiency machines, less is more. You should not see a lot of sudsing with a high-efficiency machine. If you add too much detergent, the washer will have a harder time rinsing out the soap and can damage the machine. (Tip: If you have added too much detergent, you can reduce the suds by adding liquid fabric softener).
